Green Giant Design Build has spent nearly two decades solving problems. We are proud to share our experience in the form of a series of stand alone solutions that support high-performance and Passive House construction and ventilation.
AI Stud
AI Studs (patent pending) are engineered wall studs that pick up where a 2x10s leave off, offering more dimensional stability, improved thermal performance, and a better use of materials (by using high carbon sequestration / short growth cycle lumber).
AI Studs can be delivered pre-cut and notched for positive indexing, or in unprocessed full-lifts. Packages will reduce labour, ensure accuracy, and improve construction times.
InsulRaft Foundation System
Currently Only Available in Ontario
InsulRaft is an easy to assemble insulated concrete form foundation system. This system is for those looking for an alternative to the traditional foundation that leaks energy from your house. InsulRaft provides an affordable, high performance, insulated foundation system designed to your targeted insulation performance, heating needs, and Passive House certification requirements.
Traditional foundations can be expensive as they require deep excavation and typically 3 separate concrete pours for the footings, walls and floor. InsulRaft’s system requires one concrete pour and can be built on grade with minimal excavation. If a below grade foundation is required the slab and tray system works well with ICF walls to provide a very comfortable basement.
InsulRaft’s EPS foam sits under your structural slab foundation and provides a blanket of insulation for your entire home
This system can be laid in a little as a few hours once final grade is set.
Professional installation is available or DIY if you choose.
3D Printed Components
Green Giant Design Build custom design and 3D print gaskets, wall connections, adapters, clips and other components to support ventilation installation, electrical, plumbing, and any other wall penetrations. We also draw from solutions we have come up with for Passive House pre-fabrication to custom design components for shops and builders.
We work with all major filament types, including UL94 rated poly-carbonate.
